SO if you are wondering about what are CAT, MAT, GMAT & CMAT then let me just assure you that these are not a name of mouse OR a floor furnishing but these are short form of various entrance exams for various management institutes, Lets just check them one by one.

  • CAT: Common Admission Test OR commonly known as CAT is entrance test for admissions in world famous Indian Institute of Management. Its called common because various IIM’s Uses these scores for scrutinising, filtering & selecting their students. CAT is famous for its robustness and toughness as competition is fierce and percentile system used in CAT makes it cutthroat to get a call from TOP IIM’s.
  • MAT or Management Aptitude test is organised by AIMA (All India Management Association) for benchmarking aspirants for admissions in participating colleges. MAT is organised 4 times a year with its score valid for one year.
  • CMAT or Common Management admission Test is organised by AICTE, and is for admissions in Colleges which are approved by Ministry of Human Resources Development. This Test conducted once every year.
  • GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test, is organised by Graduate Management Admission Council, syllabus of CAT and GMAT is almost similar except that Quantitative aptitude is easier in GMAT. This test can be attempted up to 5 times in 12 months but each attempt date have to have a minimum of 16 days of difference.

All the above tests are designed to test different parameters and qualities in people attempting these. Collages accepting these test score are also different so find out that what score is acceptable at your dream college
